Or perhaps it should be called nickelodee-YUM

Nickelodee-YUM is a wannabe Nickelodeon series that would be available both online and then eventually on the TV channel. It’s a true and fun parent/child activity that fits in with the current EASY UPLOAD, record everything environment.

And OF COURSE, the social distancing aspect of this idea makes it something easier to create than your typical filmed show!

It all begins with a contest toy set that is purchased, with a set of instructions on the outside of the box that outline contest entry rules. (See Below for more rule details!)

Nickelodeon will profit from these contest kits that can be sold in the toy section or on the website. Then, video editors will have a choice of all the uploaded videos, to handpick the best footage for the subsequent future TV show.

While the child records his or her responses to a couple of pre-challenge questions, such as “What’s the worst thing you’ve ever tasted?” or; “What don’t you want to taste?” the parent (or legal guardian ) will be in a different room, also on camera, emptying numbered containers into the small cups that are provided and removing the packaging before going into the room with the child.

Children who successfully complete the challenge will be entered into the semi-finals, where they will do the challenge again but this time with special combinations of two ingredients, sure to be non-pleasant, such as; dried kiwi soaked in ketchup. Hopefully, by the time it is to record the finals, third round, COVID will be under control and it can be recorded live!

contest rules

-Challenge must be completed in 30 mins or less.

-Parent or Guardian must “VeriSign” in some way electronically, or sign and send in the consent form.

-Parent or Guardian will be required to have camera recording before breaking the box seal.

-There will be a two camera/recording device requirement. Camera One will be recording a broad view as the box is opened and contest supplies are laid out. Camera Two angle will be closer to the child, recording close views and audio.

-Upload instructions will specify that they are labeled View One and View Two (or some alternative wording to be used by the narrator on the finished product, i.e.; “Our V2 angle shows the exact moment that Monica couldn’t take another bite and quit in round three.”

-Uploaded contest entries must be unedited and have no missing minutes or gaps in the timestamp. In the event they have lost electricity or some other happening that they claim was out of their control, they will not be able to enter contest for prize, but will still be able to upload their content to the Nickelodee-YUM page with the understanding that they “may be” featured on the show or social media.

The food

-Ideally, having companies package trial sizes, or single serve containers will give them free advertising if the deal was right!  Also, many of the foods found in the chart below can be found at the dollar store so if we have a five round Challenge, That would be $5 worth of food!

-Method of intake should be something different for the last round. First four rounds will be “one spoonful” or “one mouthful” but for the final round it should be something scary like a meat injector that Mom fills with food and even helps the child dispense into mouth if need be!
